An Elgato Stream Deck is a great gadget — but it's ~$150, it lives under your hand, and mid-game your hands are busy. Gecko takes a different route: your webcam is the controller. Give a thumbs-up, smile, or clap, and your effects fire. Free, local, Windows.
Gecko still gives you a Stream Deck-style grid of keys: each key binds a trigger to a stack of actions (GIF overlay, sound, banner, screen shake, instant replay clip, recording control…). The difference is what presses the key. Instead of a thumb, it's a hand gesture, a facial expression, a head nod, a clap, a global hotkey, a timer — or your Twitch chat redeeming channel points.

If you need to control lots of other software — scene switches across a complex OBS setup, lighting rigs, audio mixers, macros in a dozen apps — the Elgato ecosystem's plugins and its always-fires physical keys are genuinely excellent, and Gecko doesn't replace that today. Gecko is the better fit when what you want is reactions on your stream: memes, sounds, replays, and effects that fire from what you're already doing on camera. Plenty of streamers will happily run both.
