Gecko is a hands-free stream deck. Hand gestures, facial expressions, claps, hotkeys, and timers trigger GIF overlays, sounds, banners, text-to-speech, and instant replays — composited live on your webcam feed and burned straight into your recording.
Gecko is a native Windows 10/11 desktop app (x64). There's no macOS or Linux build today — if you want one, leave your email and you'll get exactly one message when the Mac build ships.
No. Gecko composites every effect into its own output, so it works standalone. If you do stream through OBS, the optional Pro overlay drops Gecko's effects right into your existing scene.
Yes — the core app is free to download and use. Gecko Pro is an optional one-time unlock that adds the streaming integrations, bought right in the app.
No. All gesture, expression, and audio processing runs locally on your machine — nothing from your camera or mic is ever uploaded. The OBS overlay streams only over localhost. The one exception to "no account": Gecko Pro signs in with Google purely to remember your purchase.
Yes. The vision models (MediaPipe) are bundled with the app, so Gecko runs fully offline — no internet connection required.
Gecko runs a small local hub server that serves a transparent browser-source overlay and streams its composited effects over WebRTC. You add one Browser Source in OBS pointed at a local URL like http://localhost:5175/overlay/, and Gecko's overlays render on top of your scene. Setup steps are in the docs.
The OBS integration is a Gecko Pro feature. Everything else — triggers, overlays, sounds, recording control, instant replay — is free.
Any software that supports a Browser Source can point at the same local overlay URL, so tools built on OBS (like Streamlabs Desktop) should work the same way.
Gecko Pro is $9.99 as a one-time unlock (launch pricing) — and it's 50% off ($4.99) through August 1, 2026 for the launch sale. Checkout happens right in the app via Stripe; pricing and plans may evolve as Gecko grows.
The streaming integrations: OBS overlay (transparent browser source + live preview), OBS control (scene switching, sources, stream/record from your keys), Twitch audience triggers (follows, subs, bits, raids, channel points), VTube Studio hotkeys, TikTok LIVE Studio via the hosted relay, and teaching your own custom gestures. Pro also removes the small "made with Gecko" watermark. Everything else — all triggers, effects, recording, replays, and key sharing — is free.
Gecko Pro is a one-time unlock tied to your account — not a recurring subscription. Pricing and plans may change in the future as new features land.
Open Settings → Gecko Pro in the app, sign in with Google, and click Buy Gecko Pro. Once purchased, your Pro unlock follows your account on any device you sign in on.
Yes. Pro follows your Google account, not a device — install Gecko on another computer and sign in with the same account to pick up your Pro unlock there too. No deactivating, no keys to move.
Windows SmartScreen can flag new apps until they build reputation. If you trust the download, choose More info → Run anyway.
Make sure the Gestures toggle is on, no other app has grabbed your camera, and the trigger's confidence threshold isn't set too high. Lowering the hold-to-confirm frames speeds up response. More in the troubleshooting docs.
Confirm Gecko is running, the Browser Source URL exactly matches what Gecko shows, and nothing else is using port 5175. Refresh the Browser Source cache in OBS after changing the URL.
